Nickel–Titanium Rotary Instruments: An In Vitro Comparison (Torsional Resistance of Two Heat-treated Reciprocating Files)

Aim and objective The present study aims to evaluate the difference in torsional resistance of two reciprocating nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) rotary files: WaveOne Gold EdgeOne Fire. Materials methods A total 40 instruments (n = 40): 20 Small (WOGS) Fire (EOFS) were divided into groups. Each instrument was tested using a device already validated previous studies compare resistance. static test implemented by blocking each at 3 mm from tip rotating it until fracture with motion. Torque (TtF) fragment length (FL) measured statistically analyzed. Results Statistical analysis TtF found significant differences between groups (p 0.05) Conclusion According results this study, is reasonable assert that EOFS showed higher if compared WOGS. Clinical significance As evidenced should be considered as safer solution, terms resistance, WOGS, reducing risk intracanal separation due excessive load.
